Renewal Deadline

Licenses renew every 4 years by April 1. Renewal is based on demonstrating continued competence rather than CE hours.

Mandatory Topics

Arizona does not require specific mandatory topics. All CE hours may be in topics relevant to your practice area.

Additional Notes

Arizona does not require specific CE hours for RN/LPN renewal. Instead, nurses must demonstrate continued competence through one of: completion of a board-approved refresher course, 960 hours of active nursing practice in the past 5 years, or graduation from a nursing program within the past 5 years. DEA registrants with Schedule II authority must complete 3 hours related to opioids/substance abuse every 4 years.
