GA
RN HOURS0per 2-year cycle
LPN HOURS0per 2-year cycle
APRN HOURS0Same as RN

Renewal Deadline

Licenses renew every 2 years on January 31 of even-numbered years.

Mandatory Topics

Georgia does not require specific mandatory topics. All CE hours may be in topics relevant to your practice area.

Additional Notes

Georgia does not require specific CE hours for RN/LPN renewal. Nurses must meet ONE of the following continuing competency options: (1) 30 CE hours from a board-approved provider, (2) maintenance of national certification, (3) completion of an accredited academic nursing program, (4) verification of 500 hours of practice as certified by employer, or (5) other board-approved activities. Because national certification or practice hours satisfy the requirement, many Georgia nurses renew without completing any CE hours.
