Renewal Deadline
Licenses renew annually on October 31.
Mandatory Topics
One-time requirement for nurses who care for children. Covers recognition and prevention of pediatric abusive head trauma.
Required within 3 years of initial licensure. Covers dynamics and effects of domestic violence, elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation on adult and child victims.
Required. Two hours of approved CE addressing suicide assessment, treatment, and management.
Additional Notes
Kentucky is one of the few states requiring annual CE (14 hours/year). The domestic violence and pediatric head trauma requirements are initial requirements rather than recurring ones. Prescribing APRNs need additional pharmacology hours.
