Licenses renew every 2 years on January 31.
Mandatory Topics
Louisiana does not require specific mandatory topics. All CE hours may be in topics relevant to your practice area.
Additional Notes
No mandatory CE topics for RNs/LPNs. Alternatively, nurses may submit 900 hours of nursing practice during the licensure period in lieu of CE hours. APRNs with prescriptive authority must complete 12 hours in pharmacotherapeutics (6 per year). DEA registrants must complete a one-time 8-hour training on treatment and management of opioid/substance use disorders.
