Mandatory Topics
Alzheimer's Disease and Dementia
0hRequired for nurses providing direct patient care. Must complete a course on diagnosis, treatment, and care of patients with cognitive impairments including Alzheimer's disease and dementia. No specific hour count mandated but must be part of the 15 hours.
Domestic and Sexual Violence
2h2 hours on the screening and referral of domestic and sexual violence.
Additional Notes
Massachusetts requires a relatively low 15 hours per cycle. The Alzheimer's/dementia course is required for direct-care nurses but does not have a specific hour minimum. Opioid prescribers may have additional requirements.
