Renewal Deadline

Licenses renew every 2 years. Renewal date is based on the nurse's birth month.

Mandatory Topics

Minnesota does not require specific mandatory topics. All CE hours may be in topics relevant to your practice area.

Additional Notes

No mandatory CE topics for RNs/LPNs. LPNs only need 12 hours (half of RN requirement). Nurses have full flexibility to choose topics relevant to their practice area. APRNs with prescriptive authority must complete 2 hours on controlled substances.
