Mandatory Topics

Cultural Competency

4 of the 30 hours must be in cultural competency.

One-time 4-hour bioterrorism course required.

Controlled Substances / Opioids

2 hours on misuse and abuse of controlled substances, prescribing of opioids, or addiction, required each licensure period.

Additional Notes

Nevada has multiple mandatory topics. HIV stigma and discrimination training (2 hours) is required for nurses providing emergency or primary care services (effective January 1, 2024). APRNs need 45 hours total and 2 hours of suicide prevention/awareness training.
