Licenses renew every 2 years. Expiration is based on licensure date.

Mandatory Topics

Tennessee does not require specific mandatory topics. All CE hours may be in topics relevant to your practice area.

Additional Notes

Tennessee does not require general continuing education for RN or LPN license renewal, making it one of the few states with no CE mandate. However, nurses who prescribe or dispense controlled substances must complete CE in those areas. APRNs must maintain national certification.
